We had such a blast this past week as a Dooley Family! Here is a rundown of what we enjoyed in good old Soda!
Laurie Beth and family arrived on Tuesday morning at about 1:30 a.m. When Gideon and Jeremiah woke up (early, the same time that Ammon wakes up to go to work), they could not contain their excitement! Luckily, Laurie Beth and some of her kids were awake at that time as well! They enjoyed playing on the skyfort in the backyard all day long! We went to the park for the free lunch, and enjoyed visiting with Danelle and Rebecca when they arrived in the afternoon! On Wednesday, we all enjoyed playing games and watching the kids play the board game Hide and Seek! This was another day full of fun where we just stayed around the house and played! We did go over to the park and had a good laugh to see us Mommy's on the teeter totter with our little kids! The guys enjoyed playing a round of frisbee golf! We came home late afternoon and cooled off eating Pomegranate/Huckleberry Snow Cones! Thursday morning all of us sisters went to Alco to buy a few things, and to have some girl time, while the Dad's and the boys were all at home packing us up for our trip to Bear Lake! We met up with Rick's family at the Lake and were so Excited to find that because of the snow pack during the winter and the wet, wet Spring and first half of the Summer the Lake was so full that there was just the right amount of beach (just a little bit between the grass and the water) to build sand castles! We sure missed Granny and Granddad during this trip, as we found out that we were not too prepared with more than enough floaties! We did find some from their house and took those, but some of them had holes in them and were of no use to us! Glad to say, we came home all in one piece and only a few of us had a little bit of sunburned skin! Friday, we spent playing around the house and playing in the swimming pool that Laurie Beth brought up with her! This day was so good because we got to Skype with Granny and Granddad as a whole family! At about 7:00 p.m. was when Gideon's Grand Adventure took place (see post below)! Saturday we went to Bancroft for the 24th of July Parade! The kids loved that the parade came around twice because the first time, they were too excited to pick up candy to look at the floats, so the second time around they enjoyed laughing at the float that had an old fashion outhouse, washtub (with someone in it washing), and a saw to cut logs! We then went out to Chesterfield, but did not get to do any fun Pioneer games as they did not have it set up this year! Sunday morning we said good bye to Laurie Beth and her family, as the rest of us went to Church! We enjoyed telling everyone that Granny and Granddad are asking to extend their mission service to be a full two years rather than the 18 months they originally asked for! We then enjoyed putting puzzles together Sunday night as we all enjoyed eating baked s'mores! Monday morning Danelle and Rebecca said goodbye to Rick's family and cleaned the house while I was with Gideon at the dentist! We got home just in time for lunch and said goodbye to Danelle and Rebecca! It was so great to have all of the family together! I totally understand now how Granny feels when everyone leaves and she is left alone in the house! I don't know what to do with myself and the boys! Luckily I had a ton of laundry to do to fill up my days this week! Gideon keeps saying, "How come my cousins aren't here? Are they coming in 1 more sleep? " Jeremiah keeps looking at the family pictures and trying to say something, but I just don't understand what it is he is saying! It sure isn't the same being here with the toys and the skyfort without all of the cousins to play with my boys! Thanks family for coming and making it a fantastic week! Love you!
