Very Exciting Week
If you can live through catastrophe over and over again within one week and still say, "Wow! That was a really good week, and I love my job!" then I guess all is well! Some things happened this week at work, that sure welcomed Ammon into this new job with a BANG!!! He really enjoys his job here on the Youth Ranch and has connected well with the youth!!! We all enjoy living here on the Ranch for many reasons! Here are some of the reasons that we have really enjoyed being out in the middle of nowhere: Silence (we do not hear traffic noises, sirens, or trains), Fresh Clean Air (no more smelling our neighbors smoking pot), Beautiful View out all windows (out our front windows we see some horses across the way, trees, and a beautiful garden that is being harvested and shared with all of us here on the Ranch: Out our back windows we see fields of golden brown, yellow, and green with a few horses down the way as well), and (best of all) Great Friends!!! We have been warmly welcomed into this little community on the Ranch and in our Ward at church!!! There is no doubt in our minds that this is where we are to be at this time and that we are following our Savior's plan for our little family!!! I was going to put up a few pictures of our new place, but I want to wait to post pictures until we get it all put together after it is painted (it might be a few weeks before this happens)!!! Anyways, on to how we have adjusted: Ammon-like I said, he really enjoys his new job and has been very happy and energetic when he comes home, Desiree-has been very tired with trying to unpack and taking care of three very active boys, Gideon-loves riding the bus each morning (even though he now has to wake up about half an hour earlier than he is used to to catch the early morning bus to go to school), loves to eat breakfast with his friends at school, loves school, and loves to play with his new friends here on the Ranch every day (there are about 6 kids under the age of 10 that live here on the Ranch), Jeremiah-loves playing with friends, loves to do preschool with Mom in the morning while Gideon is gone, and is more talkative than he ever has been, Malachi-is having a difficult time adjusting to sharing a room with his brothers (mainly he just doesn't sleep well during the day and is constantly waking up from the noise that his brothers make), but he loves to crawl around and tries to keep up with his brothers when they move from room to room, he now pulls himself to a standing position and tries to grab anything and everything that he can (it is a good thing that we have moved because I do not have to worry about stairs (like I did at the last place) and it was very easy to baby proof the house for a baby that is mobile and is starting to pull up onto things because when I unpacked each box, I knew that I had to put certain things up high)!!! I can't believe how big Malachi is getting!!! He is now very interested in people food and loves to eat little pieces of freezer dried yogurt, little bits of rice, and little bits of noodles!!! I feel that he is still too young to eat people food (he is only 8 1/2 months), but it is fun to see that he is growing and interacting more with the family each day!!! I'm certain that I am forgetting some very important details, but I can't think of anything else to say, other than it has been a very good week and a half for us, and we look forward to see what exciting things are in store for us in the upcoming weeks!!! (I will post pictures soon!!!)

I'm glad that your move went well and that you're settling in! So do you guys have an apt/house on the ranch itself? Sounds like you're doing great! Miss you guys!!
We live in a 2 Bedroom Apartment provided to us here on the Ranch! All employees are required to live on the Ranch! It is a small apartment, but big enough to fit our family for now!!! Hopefully in the next couple of years, when the Ranch expands, we will be able to have a bigger apartment built for us and the other family that lives here that has 4 children in a 2 Bedroom Apartment!!!
Oh wow! I can't imagine squeezing 4 kids and 2 adults into a 2 bedroom apartment! Hopefully you guys will be able to get a bigger place soon!
